Double Arun

She
fell and
lay on the
curb, waiting for
someone to hear her
calling in distress.
One
neighbor
finally
heard, helped her up,
walked her back inside.
What
happened
is scary-
thinking what could
have…is even worse.

She
bruised her
body but
more than that she
hurt her sense of self.
Will
she still
remain as
independent
as she was before?
We
all want
to be her
encouragement-
as she has been ours.

  1. Each sentence/verse is both a summary and a pondering. Nicely done.

  2. elle1955 says:

So much worry. It comes with love.

  3. elsie says:

I am glad a neighbor heard and helped. As life changes, we face different challenges. I just hope I am ready for them.

  4. Nice use of Stacie’s Arun pattern. The structure works well here to tell the story. It adds tension as the story unfolds. The known and the unknown. I know “she” will value the encouragement and love of her neighbors.
