Between Friends

Emotions
Shift

Rift
Separates

Gift of Forgiveness
Fills the gap

Back on solid ground

The word “rift” carries so much weight, but “gift” balances it so well–just like in real life. Thank you for a poem that resonates so much with so few words (one to spare!).

  2. Adrienne says:

Wow. fifteen words can really pack a punch. It really captures a true friendship, where rifts happens, but the foundation remains.

Great poem! I saw the prompt but didn’t get a chance to participate–last day of parent teacher conferences! I love Laura’s photo prompts and it’s always fascinating to see the different directions people take.

The topic of friendship doesn’t need to be long and flowery – simple and to the point in 15 words.

I love reading the poetic responses to challenges. This one you completed is especially meaningful. I love the short two line phrases and then the clincher – back on solid ground.
