It’s March,
Coming in like a lion
Roaring in my mind
Write thirty-one days?
Ha! We’ll see…
Lion, you’re not really
Scaring me-
I’ve done it before
And I’ll do it again!
You’ll see…
It might get tough,
I know,
But halfway through
The luck of the Irish ☘️
Comes to the rescue
And since it’s March, lion,
By the end
You’ll be replaced
By a sweet little lamb
And I will celebrate!!
Love that you’re addressing your roaring lion. The image of him being replaced at month’s end by the sweet little lamb is lovely. I’m hanging onto these words: “I’ve done it before
And I’ll do it again!”
So well put and I share the same feelings! 31 days you can do it! You have done it before and you will do it again. Happy writing!
The great sense of accomplishment we feel when the month is over and have tamed that lion. Yes, we can do this!
I had never heard the phrase about March coming in like a lion, etc. until I moved to the east coast. Love how you’re talking right to the lion, symbolic of facing down your fears! And the nod to St. Patrick’s Day bringing you luck– great! Happy Writing! So glad you’re in!
The lion and the lamb! Love the juxtaposition! I’ve had a break on the March challenge, let’s see how this year goes!
I’ll be right with you Diane with some good vodka!
30 more slices to go 🙂
Roaring in is right! Thanks for stopping by my blog for a visit. Old friends make me want to keep writing!
What a clever poem! Love how you played with March symbolism. Here’s to 30 more days!
A perfect way to start the month. I’ll look forward to reading your writing again. Your words are like pieces of your heart.
