These are the books I won in a drawing at PD today. They were stowed in the trunk of my car so I could take them to my classroom tomorrow. I was reading slices, thinking about what mine would be, when I came to Ramona’s Pleasures on the Page… and there it was- a book spine poem! Duh, why didn’t I think of that! It’s so obviously a perfect slice for today.
So here it is, a tribute to diverse characters in my new collection of fiction and nonfiction multicultural picture books:
This Is How We Do It
Emmanuel’s Dream
Leila in Saffron
Sulwe
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind
Iqbal and His Ingenious Idea
Nasreen’s Secret School
We Are Grateful
Congratulations on winning a prize. Great arrangement of titles.
This is perfect! Loved how you used This Is How We Do It to introduce the poem and then concluded with We Are Grateful. Glad to inspire more book spine poetry. It’s always fun. So many great titles in your box. What a gift!
I really need to give this a shot someday. I love book-spine poems every time I see them!
Book spine poems are so much fun! I haven’t done one this year yet, but I might have to rifle through my books and find some poetry soon. Thank you for sharing.
