Lesson from a Robin

Robin hops around
Pecking at the ground and finds
All the food it needs

Restaurants are closed
Searching my kitchen I find
All the food I need

Some are not so blessed
I share what I can and pray
All get food they need

  1. Yes, we are so blessed to have all we need…many are suffering and sharing (food, love, help) seems to be the name of the game to get through this all. I loved your poem. 🙂 Thank you.

  2. I love how the robin you to think about others’ food supply too. We begin food distribution to our students tomorrow, and I am so thankful that we are able to do this as a corporation. Hope you are doing well!

Love the way this poem pivots…from a sweet lyrical poem about the robin to the plight of humanity right now. So lovely, thank you.

Great transition from having much to needing much.

  5. It is certainly a time to consider only what we need. I’m also thankful to have all my needs met.

  6. This poem works so well in its move from this observation of the robin to a consideration of all the needs that people currently have that may not be met. Such depth and richness in three short stanzas. Thank you for this today!

  7. Very nice poem 🙂 I like the visual of the robin!

  8. I love how this poem is connected from one grouping of lines to the next!

  9. Ramona says:

I saw a very fat robin on my walk today. Tried to catch a pic, but he hoped away just as i reached for my camera. Birds are such an important theme in your poems. I love your progression in that final line.
