Up and Down

I’m up
I’m down
Mind whirling ‘round and ‘round.

Will we go back?
Will we go online?

Twenty desks in a room?!
A new LMS to learn?!

Mask breaks? What?!
Back to the grading scale?!

I’m up
I’m down
Mind whirling ‘round and ‘round

Back to school used to be
So much more fun!

After a lot of debate, plans made and then changed, my district will be online, with limited in-person services, until at least October 2. Not a perfect plan, but the safest for our city, which was named a coronavirus hotspot.

  1. I can not even fathom what my teacher friends and former colleagues are going through. Added to that the way this uncertainty effects students and families. It stresses me out and I am retired. Like everything in these crazy times I am holding on to faith in Jesus and prayer. I know you will find your solace there as well. Blessings!

I echo Kim’s words. I feel the uncertainty whirling ’round and ’round too. My heart goes out to all my teacher friends as they struggle to navigate this school year. Prayers and hugs.

  3. Definitely a safer way to return, by staying away until 10/2. And by then, it’s possible remote instruction will continue.

I truly hope we’re in a better place by this time next year!

Should or sho we? Will we or won’t we? It is no wonder heads are spinning. At this point I don’t think anyone has an answer. All we can do is trust that the choice made is the right one for the time being.
